(it's hot stuff - don't say I didn't warn you!)
What kind of bread yeast? Are we talking X2 sachets of Alison's instant Yeast? Could that work?
Hi Rebecca! Yes absolutely - I've successfully used the sachets before as well as loose yeast.
I've made a good few batches since the one that inspired this post and would recommend a few tweaks:
* Increasing the sugar to 3 or 4 cups when making 5 litres;
* Feel free to drop the ground ginger. the brew is still fiery (there's a lot of ginger root in there!) and is also less cloudy;
* If you don't have lemons on hand four mandarins split into segments work very well.
Ginger beer is almost infinitely customisable so experiment away!
